A project with the workers school Escolas de março is currently in preparation to improve training skills and to set up a network linking co-operative, self-managed producers and consumers in the working-class economy. It should affect improvements of the living conditions of the residents of six areas of the State of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil where there are already projects developing direct economic links between producers and the working class. Alternatives and it’s partners are also helping organize a range of sectoral and regional networks through both the development of common marketing strategies and by helping form groups of working class consumers to purchase directly from producers.
