
Alternatives is proud to support the5th Montreal Citizen Summit and invites you to participate. Events will be taking place from June 5-7 at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). J.-A DeSève Building, 320, Sainte-Catherine Street East.
Alternatives is organizing three workshops (in French) on June 6 and 7 :
– On problems facing ethno-cultural elders (Saturday June 6th at 3:50pm, rooml DS M 440)
– On urban gardening (Saturday June 6th at 3 :50pm)
– Solidarity with Palestine: Testimonies from a Quebec Delegation (Sunday June 7 at 1:45pm, room DS M 240)

June 5th: The 5th Citizen Summit Opening Night
The opening night will be a politico-festive event where music, poetry and visual arts will launch the 5th Montreal Citizen Summit.
Montreal artists such as Caracol, Jai Guru, Fabrice Koffy, Labess will be on stage.
Where: Society for arts and technology (SAT), 1195, Boul. St-Laurent
When: Friday June 5th 2009 at 7h30pm
Entrance fee: 10$ or Free when registered to the Summit
Saturday, June 6th and Sunday June 7th
More than 80 workshops, round tables and conferences
More than 100 resource people from Montreal, the Rest of Canada, Europe and the US.
The Mayor Gérald Tremblay as well as candidates Benoit Labonté, Richard Bergeron and Louise O’Sullivan will react to the citizen’s propositions on the ‘City We Want!’
Themes: economy, urban planning, social justice, inclusion, citizenship, environment, democracy and culture.
