11 May 2009Finally, to wrap up a busy week, a big party open to all will get things hopping at the Plaza Theatre on Friday, May 15. Bambara Trans will perform its blended multicultural music. With 8 musicians on stage, things will heat up quickly!
The À Bâbord Jazz Band will open the night and a DJ will make you dance until 3 am.

"Canada and the Middle East Wars" at Concordia University, Thursday,
February 19 at 7pm.
Fisk, the Middle East correspondent of the UK newspaper The Independent, has spent more than 30 years living in and reporting from the
region and won awards for his work.

Jeff Halper is an anthropologist activist and author. He is the coordinator of the Israeli Committtee Against House Demolitions. Considered for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 with Ghassan Andouni, he has written much on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and had been interviewed frequently on the subject.

Alternatives’ Days: August 22-24
5 August 2008Alternatives’ Days 2008 will take place from August 22 to 24th in Saint-Alphonse-de-Rodriguez. This global solidarity summer school from Alternatives includes workshops, and discussions focusing on political and socioeconomic policy at home and abroad. In attendance will be more than 100 stakeholders from America, Europe, Asia and Africa. There are also films and a free show on saturday night!!

Why: Omar Khadr, a Canadian citizen, has been imprisoned under inhumane conditions at Guantanamo Bay for over 5 years.

5 June 2008Alternatives’ General Assembly will be taking place Saturday June 7, 2008 from 10:00 to 16:00 at Saint-Pierre Centre, 1212 Panet Street (Beaudry station), room 100.
The General Assembly will pick up on the issues discussed in the series of meetings that preceded it to define the orientation of the organization for the next five years.
