ALTERNATIVES DAYS 2006: A social activism retreat not to miss!

A global solidarity summer school from Alternatives including:

– Workshops, debates, and discussions focusing on political and socioeconomic policy at home and abroad. In attendance will be more than 100 stakeholders from Iraq, Israel, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, India, Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as Québec and Canada.

– An activist film festival, bringing to the screen stories from Rio’s slums in Favela Rising, the refuseniks of the Iraq War in To Disobey, and illegal immigrants and political refugees in Partir ou Mourir (Leave or Die) .

– A hip-hop festival featuring the Elephriends collective, and showcasing spoken-word, graffiti, and breakdancing.

A wild musical performance featuring les Zapartistes and the musicians of Bombolessé.
